The Marches LEP has operated as a Company Limited by Guarantee (CLG) since February 2019 and the LEP Board is the LEP’s ultimate decision-making authority. Its Board comprises both public and private sector partners. Its structure has been developed in the interests of: minimising bureaucracy, cost and duplication; achieving speedy decision making and delivery; and sharing expertise and resources.
The Marches LEP, which operates across a large economic geography of 2,300 sq miles, has put in place formal arrangements to ensure fast and effective decision-making together with democratic accountability for the substantial public funds that are required to deliver the recently updated Marches Strategic Economic Plan (SEP) and Growth Programme, including European Structural and Investment Funds (ESIF) and Local Growth Funds.
The details of the single governance structure for the LEP and how it will oversee the delivery of the Growth Programme for the LEP can be found in the Marches LEP Accountability and Assurance Framework.
The 2022/23 Delivery Plan includes details on the investment programme being delivered by the Marches LEP and its strategy development work, including priority actions to drive economic recovery.
