Trade Mission opportunities for business

June 22, 2015

A visit to an overseas market is an exciting opportunity to build contacts and experience a new business culture, but it comes at the expense of time and money.
A UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) group mission offers a way to minimise the learning curve and increase the impact of your journey exponentially.
UKTI trade missions are high profile, with media coverage which will boost UK companies seeking international business meetings. Networking receptions held at British Embassies and Consulates also offer the chance to meet pre-qualified contacts, saving valuable time. An experienced host will support your efforts before, during and after the trip, offer funding to SMEs where eligible, and a network of like-minded local companies to share the journey may prove useful contacts back at home.
Upcoming missions:
Singapore and Malaysia (25 July – 5 August) – this Northern Powerhouse mission will include receptions and events organised by the British High Commission. Southeast Asia is a vibrant, fast- growing region with Singapore and Malaysia strategically important global business hubs.
Turkey (11-16 October) – increasing use of English for business and strong economic growth make Turkey a lucrative market. Book 1:1s with targeted prospects and join a networking reception at the British Consulate.
Japan – Tokyo International Industry Exhibition (18-20 November) – benefits include interpreters at the exhibition, a networking reception with other exhibitors and a 1:1 meeting arrangement service.
Baltics (23-25 November) – for just £200 all inclusive, novice exporters can experience a taste of a new market and what support UKTI offers on a mission to Latvia. Key sectors for winning business on this special programme are cyber and food & drink.
For more information on any of the missions call 0345 2220159 or email enquiries@uktiwm.co.uk.

The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership has now ceased trading and transferred all its functions to Shropshire Council working with Telford & Wrekin Council and Herefordshire Council, in line with the UK Government's plans for devolution.

The Marches LEP was established in 2011 and hands over an impressive legacy from its 13-year life. In that time the LEP invested over £196m in projects across the Marches, securing in excess of £100m of match funding and supported more than 66,000 business interactions.

The schemes supported have made tangible differences to local communities, increasing skills, creating jobs and improving the physical appearance of many towns.

We would like to thank all the LEP Board Members who have given their time freely over the life of the LEP, as well as all the staff who worked for the LEP over the years. We also want to thank our delivery partners, local education providers and local, regional and national stakeholders who helped us achieve so much.

The Marches Growth Hub will continue to support businesses and will be managed by Shropshire Council, supported by Telford and Wrekin and Herefordshire Councils. Each of the three Local Authorities will also continue to provide direct business support locally. Details of this support will be available through the Marches Growth Hub website and from the Local Authorities directly. Website: www.marchesgrowthhub.co.uk | email: enquiries@marchesgrowthhub.co.uk.

The Marches Careers Hub will continue to be delivered and will be managed by Shropshire Council, supported by Telford & Wrekin and Herefordshire Councils. Website: www.marchescareershub.co.uk | email: info@marchescareershub.co.uk
