Skills support for the workforce awareness events
The Marches LEP has identified employment and skills as a key issue to be tackled as a priority if the region is to reach its full economic potential. Training and courses are now available free of charge for employers in Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin thanks to Skills Support for the Workforce scheme.
This is being delivered by the Marches Skills Provider Group and supported by the European Social Fund.
LEP chairman Graham Wynn says: “We need to support local businesses to create jobs, invest in their enterprises and maximise their potential for profit and growth. We want to do this by getting people out of poverty and into work, tackling skills shortages and overcoming barriers to getting and keeping a job.
“In challenging times, it is important that we support employers by helping to develop a skilled workforce which is fit for purpose and fit for the future. The Skills Support for the Workforce project is helping to do exactly that and there is no doubt businesses, and their staff, can benefit from these courses.”
