About the project

A £691k project, including £483k from the Local Growth Fund.

The funding supported the purchase of equipment for the Manufacturing Skills Hub to enable a range of learning activity from bite-sized courses to full degrees in Electronic Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, in conjunction with Staffordshire University.

The equipment has included mechatronics distribution and sorting stations, robotic workstations, lathes, mills, welders, vehicle lifts, computers and workstations.

The project had delivered 246 apprenticeships,1,753 additional qualifications and supported 176 businesses by completion of the contract on 31 March 2021.
