Primary Care Centre at the Tannery

  • Infrastructure

About the project

£2.064m Local Growth Fund was awarded to develop the Primary Care Centre at the Tannery, a phased mixed-use development in the centre of Shrewsbury, supporting a number of key corporate objectives, as well as providing an essential enabling function for the new University Centre Shrewsbury by providing accommodation for students.

The medical practice will improve access to services for local people, with capacity for 10,000 patients benefitting from an integrated model of care. It will include 125m² space for training medical students in conjunction with the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust and Keele University, helping to address shortfalls in health care professionals, as well as safeguarding and creating new jobs in the practice.

The development also includes the creation of 171m² of new office space and three retail units.
