Frank-Myers

The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership has strengthened its board with the appointment of Frank Myers.
Mr Myers, the Managing Director of Ross-on-Wye based MCP Systems Consultants Ltd, joins the LEP board as Chair of the Herefordshire Business Board, a position which he has assumed from Peter Brown. He has a broad responsibility to assist in promoting economic growth opportunities for Herefordshire, and to championing Herefordshire focused projects with the wider Marches LEP area.
Speaking of his appointment, Frank Myers said: “Having been based in Herefordshire for the last 16 years, I am passionate about the region and understand what it means to do business here.
“It is important that the private and public sectors work together for the economic vitality of the region and I am fortunate enough to have experience working in both camps. I intend to use this experience to galvanise support amongst the businesses of Herefordshire for the wider benefit of the whole region.”
Chairman of the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership, Graham Wynn added: “It is my pleasure to welcome Frank to the main Marches LEP board. He has a broad range of experience and understands what is needed to make a role on a board such as this effective.
“I have every confidence that he’ll make a valuable contribution to the Marches LEP and will serve the businesses of Herefordshire well.”

The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership has now ceased trading and transferred all its functions to Shropshire Council working with Telford & Wrekin Council and Herefordshire Council, in line with the UK Government's plans for devolution.

The Marches LEP was established in 2011 and hands over an impressive legacy from its 13-year life. In that time the LEP invested over £196m in projects across the Marches, securing in excess of £100m of match funding and supported more than 66,000 business interactions.

The schemes supported have made tangible differences to local communities, increasing skills, creating jobs and improving the physical appearance of many towns.

We would like to thank all the LEP Board Members who have given their time freely over the life of the LEP, as well as all the staff who worked for the LEP over the years. We also want to thank our delivery partners, local education providers and local, regional and national stakeholders who helped us achieve so much.

The Marches Growth Hub will continue to support businesses and will be managed by Shropshire Council, supported by Telford and Wrekin and Herefordshire Councils. Each of the three Local Authorities will also continue to provide direct business support locally. Details of this support will be available through the Marches Growth Hub website and from the Local Authorities directly.
