Ruth Shepherd

Ruth Shepherd was appointed to The Marches LEP Board in July 2019 and is the founding director of Results Communications Ltd, a stakeholder engagement, consultation and communications consultancy in the built environment. Ruth is also a member of the LEP’s Performance, Risk and Monitoring Committee.

About Ruth Shepherd

As a communications consultant with over 20 years’ experience of communicating, engaging and consulting with communities, Ruth is a firm believer that improved conversations lead to better decision making. She is an advocate of good quality engagement which allows multiple voices to be heard – regardless of how much their views may differ.

Having trained and worked as a journalist, Ruth transitioned into corporate communications to improve how organisations are communicating their vision for projects, and how they are listening, responding and reacting to concerns and questions, or suggestions about alternative proposals.

From her Shropshire base, Ruth works throughout the UK, delivering stakeholder engagement and communications services to employers and clients from competition-concept to completion, with an interest in planning and consultation law.

She has formerly worked for one of the North East’s largest housing associations, a top-track 250 London-based construction company, and since 2008 has worked with public and private sector clients bringing forward development sites.

Her work and experience has also enabled her to undertake pro-bono roles at a local and regional level. She is a Town Councillor, with additional positions as Vice Chair of Shropshire Constructing Excellence, an Enterprise Advisor through the Careers and Enterprise Company/Shropshire Council and a GoConstruct Construction Ambassador with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB).
