As Chair of Shropshire Business Board, Paul has served on The Marches LEP Board since January 2019.
Paul is a leading solicitor in the field of professional practices, the business and law of the traditional professions. He advises professional clients across the UK from his Shropshire base and his clients include international and city law firms. Often instructed instead of a QC, Paul often deals with high profile cases on health and legal sector issues and is regularly quoted in the legal press.
As a council member of the Law Society of England & Wales, he supports the legal profession, influences policy and acts as one of 100 council members to a 180,000 strong profession.
Shropshire-born, he has chaired The Professionals Partnership, a sector group for business & professional services, covering Shropshire and Telford & Wrekin since its launch in 2017.
Paul previously chaired a successful predecessor organisation, The Shropshire Business Partnership, which merged to create the current group. Paul is active in the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce and advocates a “sell ourselves nationally ethos” believing that niche specialism, quality and service are always strong selling points.
As the Chair of Shropshire Business Board from 1st January 2019, Paul joined the Marches LEP Board. Prior to his election by the Shropshire Business Board, he had served a vice-chair and as a board member for a number of years.
Paul previously started, and later sold, a successful law firm and in March 2019 launched Bennett Briegal LLP, a law firm specialising in legal and management advice to professionals and partnerships.
As an author Paul has written two books on regulatory and ethical issues aimed at law firms.
Paul was born and brought up locally and has lived in Shropshire for the majority of his life. Paul is passionate about the region.
